RSMCS COVID-19 Learning Options & New Start Date
July 30, 2020
Dear RSMCS Families,
Thank you for your patience and recent feedback about school reopening on campus which has helped us hear your heart for your students' educational experience. After much prayer and deliberations as an administrative team, we have come to the conclusion that, in the best interests of our families, faculty, and staff, we are moving our first day of school.
NEW FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL DATE: Wednesday, September 2, 2020
We have decided to push back our first day of school one week in order to be mindful of recent recommendations put forth by the CDC and the Orange County Health Agency. Rest assured, this will NOT affect our last day of school as we still exceed the number of instructional days/minutes required by the California Department of Education.
We are moving forward with applying for a waiver through the Orange County Health Agency. However, whether the waiver process has been completed or not, we will still open with on-campus instruction beginning Sept. 2, 2020. We have recently formed a coalition with other local private Christian school administrators to prayerfully collaborate on re-opening plans for the 2020-21 school year.
In order for us to complete class lists and schedules, we need one additional piece of information from you. Please choose one of the following two learning options for the school year:
- 100% On-Campus Learning
In this model, your student will come back on campus and learn in the classroom as normal as possible.
Please contact admissions to learn how to register for the on-campus learning option.
- 100% Online Learning (available only for Kindergarten-8th grades)
In this model, your student will stay home and learn online via our Learning Management System using RSMCS Bible-based curriculum.
Please contact admissions to learn how to register for the online learning option.
Please choose one option for your student no later than Wednesday, August 12, 2020. If we do not hear from your family, we will place your student(s) in an on-campus classroom. You can transfer from one option to the other at the end of the trimester in classes where space is available.
We are working on a plan to make our CREW Extended Care program (formerly C&R) available on the dates school was originally scheduled to begin (August 26, 27, 28). Please be on the lookout for those details. soon.
Please note, when all COVID restrictions are lifted, RSMCS will move into 100% on-campus learning for all enrolled students.
Thank you for your continued support and prayer for the school, staff, and students as we prepare for the 2020-21 school year!
