Enrichment Subjects & Activities

RSM Christian School is committed to fostering a well-rounded education by offering enrichment programs designed to engage and inspire students, promoting critical thinking and social skills. These activities not only enhance academic learning but also help develop essential life skills, contributing to students' overall health and well-being.

At RSM Christian School, as part of our commitment to fostering a well-rounded education, we offer a variety of enrichment subjects and activities designed to engage and inspire our students.

Our enrichment programs include STEM, Spanish, fine arts, physical education (PE), library, and field trips, each designed to promote critical thinking, creativity, and social skills. We believe that these experiences are crucial in making learning both engaging and relevant, helping students to discover new interests and passions.

Participation in these activities not only enhances academic learning but also contributes to the development of essential life skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, and communication. Moreover, they play a significant role in improving students' health and well-being.

We are committed to nurturing the whole child and equipping our students with the skills needed for success in both their future academic endeavors and life beyond the classroom.

Technology

Our technology program includes internet and operating system basics, graphics, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, multimedia, desktop publishing, coding basics, and web page design. Students learn to use technology in their classrooms and not just in a computer lab setting. RSM Christian School has a classroom set of Chromebook computers or iPads that students use to create projects and complete assignments that integrate technology with specific classroom objectives and standards. Our upper-grades and junior high classrooms are equipped with one-to-one Chromebooks and interactive smart boards that allow teachers to incorporate technology into their everyday instruction.  Junior high students also have the option of a yearbook elective class that incorporates both art and technology skills.

STEM

STEM classes at RSM Christian School provide a dynamic, faith-integrated education that prepares students for the future by emphasizing hands-on learning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Students collaborate, create, and design using the engineering design process to solve real-world problems, fostering a love for discovery and innovation while viewing the beauty of God's creation through the lens of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.

Spanish

Educational specialists agree that children should begin learning a foreign language as early as possible.  RSM Christian School employs a full-time Spanish teacher who leads Spanish classes for all students in grades 1-6.  Our elementary Spanish program strategically introduces core Spanish vocabulary words and phrases through songs and games.  Junior high students have the elective to take one year of Spanish to prepare for high school level foreign language.

Musical

Fine Arts

The Fine Arts program at RSM Christian School is where creativity thrives through hands-on experiences in music, art, theater, and design, helping students gain confidence, skill, and purpose. Every grade level has the opportunity to explore, perform, and create, with projects often designed to integrate skill development and faith-based themes, encouraging students to express beauty through a Christian worldview.

Physical Education & Athletics

Physical Education (PE) and Athletics are essential parts of our commitment to a well-rounded education, focusing on developing students in mind, body, and spirit while supporting lifelong health and well-being as well as introducing students to a variety of sports and physical activities. These enrichment subjects teach critical life skills such as discipline, teamwork, and perseverance, encouraging students to honor God through their effort and character both on and off the field and court.

Library/Accelerated Reader

Accelerated Reader is a reading incentive program for our 1st-6th grade students that encourages them to read better quality books using a reading point system with goals and prizes to motivate. This fun program has been proven to boost student academic performance.  Students can log in and earn points in their classrooms and the library.

Academic Competitions

RSM Christian School participates in a number of academic competitions sponsored by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). In any given year, students may compete in speech meets, spelling bees, creative writing festivals, math Olympics, and more.

Field Trips

Education also takes place outside of our classroom walls.  Classes take anywhere from three to five field trips per year depending upon the grade level. Some destinations include The Nature Reserve, Mission San Juan Capistrano, Discovery Science Center, and milestone overnight field trips such as Sacramento (4th grade), Riley's Farm (5th grade) Science Camp (6th grade), and Washington D.C. (8th grade).

Your tax-deductible gift will be invested in classroom learning centers, STEAM technology advancements, support services, enrichment programs, campus improvements, and so much more that benefits all the students who attend RSMCS.
