Mission Statement
RSM Christian School (RSMCS) exists to serve families who desire for their children an education that is distinctly Christian. Our mission is to educate and disciple all students as they discover their purpose in the work of God’s kingdom, bridging the gap between who our students are and who God has created them to be.
Teacher / Student Ratio
Preschool, Pre-K: 15 students (with an aide)
TK: 14 students
Kindergarten - 8th: Average 20 students
Accreditation
RSMCS is fully accredited by ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International) and WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges).
Faculty
All RSMCS classroom teachers are credentialed and also maintain Christian Educator Certification through the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). All faculty and staff are CPR/First aid-certified as well as Live Scan fingerprinted, TB-tested, and complete mandated reporter training through the state of California.
Academics
RSM Christian School follows the California State Standards–some of the top educational standards in the nation. Our teachers use the best resources available to integrate a biblical worldview with the subject-matter standards. Curricula include Purposeful Design, Bob Jones UP, A Beka, McGraw Hill/Glencoe, Deep Roots, Sadlier, Write Reflections, Zaner-Bloser, and Prentice Hall. No teaching, theory, or policy, which contradicts the teaching of Scripture may be presented as true, right, practical, or expedient.
RSMCS prepares our students to present themselves and their knowledge well by participating in ACSI-sponsored competitions such as Spelling Bee, Math Olympics, Speech Meet, Creative Writing Festival, and Technology Fair.
Junior High
Our junior high is composed of grades 7 and 8.
Students are well prepared for high school at RSM Christian School as evidenced by the excellent acceptance rates at our area's private high schools as well as our standardized test scores.
Students are offered the opportunity to develop leadership skills by participating in our Student Action Council. Junior High electives for 7th and 8th graders vary from year to year; offerings have included digital animation, debate, drama, art, cooking, American Sign Language, and yearbook. In preparation for high school, eighth graders receive a year of instruction in Spanish.
Enrichment Programs
Students from TK to grade 8 are instructed in P.E., STEM, Spanish, and Music once a week by teachers specifically qualified in those fields.
Elementary and Junior High students participate in an Art program where they learn about the great artists and create their own masterpieces using the techniques of these artists once a month.
Chapel
Each week students in Preschool through 8th grade attend chapel. They gather together for age-appropriate times of corporate worship and Bible teaching. Our pastors, administrators, teachers, and honored guests are regularly invited to teach from God's Word. Parents are always welcome to attend.
Service
Two to three times per year, students at all grade levels demonstrate the love and compassion of Jesus through their service to the local and global community. Service opportunities have included Operation Christmas Child, shoe drives, collections for local food banks, clothing drives, care packages for our military, blanket making, and coin drives for Casa Alegre Orphanage.
Sports
Along with regular P.E. classes, RSMCS students may participate in afterschool sports.
Students in grades 5th - 8th (Boys and Girls) compete in volleyball, soccer, flag football, basketball, and track.
Extracurricular
In addition to sports, students have the opportunity to develop their God-given gifts and talents by participating in our Christmas and spring musical productions. Additional after-school classes have included ceramics, drawing, chess club, and Lego design.
Extended Care Program
CREW is a loving, safe, and fun program designed to meet the needs of families who require care for their children ages TK - 6th Grade before and after normal school hours. CREW opens each school day at 7:00 am and closes at 6:00 pm. CREW fees and grade-level schedules are listed on our Extended Care page.
