Schoolwide Learner Outcomes

Christian education is a vital component in the transforming process by which students become the people who God intends them to be. RSMCS teachers shape the hearts and minds of their students by bringing them into alignment with the truth of God’s Word (Luke 6:40; Deut. 6:4-8) and by equipping them for life by cultivating the spiritual, intellectual, social, and physical dimensions of the whole child (Luke 2:52). Our goal is that each student may be presented mature in Christ (Col. 1:28). This understanding of Christian education provides the backdrop of our expected schoolwide learner outcomes.

 

Learner Outcomes express clearly RSM Christian School’s vision for each of our students – to love God with all of their heart, soul, mind and strength.

Heart and Soul

Character:

“But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!” Galatians 5:22-23

Growing as Image Reflectors, Servant Workers, Community Builders, and Justice Restorers 

Students will:

  • Honor God through faith in Jesus Christ and by demonstrating His character as Image Reflectors.
  • Demonstrate personal responsibility by showing integrity and accountability in their choices as Image Reflectors.
  • Embrace the role of Servant Workers, living with respect and humility in service toward others.
  • Foster healthy, Christ-centered relationships, strengthening the community of God's family as Community Builders.
  • As Justice Restorers, students will act as agents of change by identifying and responding to wrongdoing.

Mind

Knowledge:

“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” Romans 12:2

Developing as Truth Discerners, Order Discoverers, and Beauty Creators

Students will:

  • Understand and apply biblical truth, discerning right from wrong as Truth Discerners.
  • Build a strong academic foundation in Language Arts, History, Mathematics, and Science, approaching learning as Order Discoverers who notice God’s structure, design, and plan for His creation.
  • Engage God's Kingdom creatively and with cultural understanding, valuing the world's people and places as Beauty Creators.

Strength

Skills:

Growing as Effective Communicators, Complex Thinkers, Creation Keepers, and Justice Restorers, Peacemakers

Students will:

  • Develop their abilities as effective communicators, honoring God with clarity and grace, through speaking, writing, listening, and creative expression.
  • Think critically and creatively, solving problems and approaching challenges as Complex Thinkers who seek God’s truth and wisdom.
  • Steward God's world to bring restoration and further God's kingdom as Creation Keepers, Justice Restorers, and Peacemakers.

Pursue fairness, compassion, and reconciliation, acting as Justice Restorers in their spheres of influence.
